Description
I always had a love for grand mountain landscapes, giant statues and 19th century romanticized (or symbolic) medieval paintings. Through this image, I wanted to depict sort of the three themes merged together: a giant statue erected in the wilderness over the tomb of a fallen hero or a king, and a lonely female figure, quite possibly his lover, paying him one last visit in the vastness and total silence of the mountains. The sunset adds an element of drama and bittersweet sadness to the scene.
