Description

Joan of Arc has always felt like a kindred spirit to me. Although I fall far short of her exemplary bravery, her story of confident belief when no one believed her has always resonated. To me, she represents comfort towards my little-self, for every time she wasn't believed or taken seriously. As a child, I was often offended on behalf of all children for the patronizing or even unkind way that some adults behaved toward us. I promised myself that I would never repeat this toward other kids when I grew up, and I do my best to uphold that commitment. Perhaps an unusual interpretation of the young soldier, Jeanne d'Arc, but she has become my personal patron saint of the child.
