With wings folded tightly against its sides, bold Amethyst dragons slink fluidly through the mazes of the deep woods. Long, lithe bodies bejeweled with tiny, close-fitting scales, smoothly angled plates along the underside and limbs, and horns that sweep around the back of the head allow this species to move deftly and quietly. When it&rsquo s time to leave the trees for the sky, powerful hindquarters propel these dragons in a vertical climb and explosive leap to clear the canopy, and long-fingered wings ensure a rapid ascent in the slightest breeze. This youngster has found some sun filtering through to the lower boughs to bask in. Gem Dragonlings series. Digital painting reproduced on 11 x 14 inch semi-gloss stock. Hand numbered and signed in gold ink.
