Member Since September 2023

After completing her studies in applied arts in 2004, Virginie Gribouilli embarked on a career as a graphic designer and illustrator, discovering sculpture much later, initially using papier-mâché. Fate led her to cold porcelain, and it was through exploring the possibilities of this material that she began to find the aesthetic of her art.

In 2018, after successfully participating in exhibitions in France and Geneva, she won the People's Choice Award at an exhibition in France  and decided to turn her art professional.

She began to develop her own mythology and refine her style and approach. Through social media, she began to build a sincere and lasting relationship with her audience.

In 2022 and 2023, she was a finalist for the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize two years in a row.

And in 2023, she won the sculpture prize at Le Salon de la Petite Mer in Riantec (56) France).

In 2024, she began exhibiting in galleries abroad: in New Zealand, Chicago, and California. She was also featured in the art book "Infected by Art," Volume 13, and will also be included in Volume 14, having received an honorable mention at the 2024 Infected by Art Art Prize.

In 2025, she won the Susannah Kelly Art Award: "Artists of Great Potential," which gave her the opportunity to exhibit in Portland, Oregon. Her works were acquired by the Naia Museum in Rochefort-en-Terre, France), and she participated in the museum's 2025 Symposium and a roundtable discussion on metal music in the realm of fantasy.

Her work is now part of private collections in France and the United States, and is gradually gaining wider recognition worldwide.

Virginie Gribouilli takes us into a timeless mythological bestiary tracing many facets of life on Earth. Using cold porcelain, she sculpts the mysteries of the past, the common yet precious of our present, and a mythological projection into the future in a dark, surreal universe tinged with softness and elegance.

She launches several “Osseus” collections. Animal silhouettes with skeleton armor, each addressing a theme linked to our relationship with the living.

Osseus spiritus are the animals currently living on Earth, those beings we take for granted and yet neglect.

The Osseus pestiferus are the cursed animals we have classified as harmful and dispensable.

The Osseus infinitus are a tribute to extinct species, erected in the pantheon of eternal species in the history of the galaxy.

And the Osseus mysticus are our vision of the world through mythological and legendary creatures.

To complete the picture, she creates a futuristic mythology: the Animist Reign.

Fantastic-looking animal skeletons carry on their backs the technological vestiges of our civilization. These Divinities are the fruit of our modern world. They have the power to satiate humans, lured and trapped by the soft light of progress.
