Cassandra Kim is a contemporary artist based in Richmond, Virginia, known for blending her lifelong passion for animals with a reverence for traditional art. A 2003 BFA graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, she spent 14 years in commercial art before transitioning to fine art in 2018. Drawing inspiration from classical masters, Kim creates surreal, layered paintings with animals, using acrylics, oils, and reclaimed vintage wood frames. Her work combines whimsy with traditionalism, engaging contemporary art audiences. A recipient of the 2013 Klondike Gold Rush National Park artist residency, her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

| Projects: | Had solo with Glave Kocen Consulting in December of 2023 where she partnered with the Virginia Department of Recreation and Conservation to hightlight endangered Virginia animal and plant species. Has had two solo this year with LeMieux Gallery and Glave Kocen, as well as being in numerous group show with galleries like Robert Lange Studios, Arch Enemy Arts, and Haven Gallery. She has partnered with the Virginia Department of Wildlife on a project, and also freelanced with Venture Richmond and Red Orange Studio. |
