Description
From the series SHOGUN which is based off of historical fact surrounding the great ODA NOBU NAGA whom united the Japanese provinces into one nation. He also made a slave (given to him by Spanish priest) a Samurai making him the only known black Samurai in Japanese history... YASUKE. Please see my accompanying Yasuke illustration in which both pieces feature the house NAGA's family crest which bonds them both. This piece was created using a graphite wash along with the orange gouache sun in the back ground. this art is 15.5x 28"
