The final painting, created for the A.R. Mitchell Museum in Trinidad, CO for the spring show "Character in Context" curated by Elliot Lang The idea of light over darkness is one of our most classic story archetypes. Since childhood, I've often visualized negative thoughts and feelings as shadowy creatures, gathering in the dark corners of my mind. When they'd start to overwhelm me, I'd imagine a tiny light source forming in my center, burning brighter and brighter until it was strong enough to shatter them into pure energy.
