Projects: Krisztina Lazar is an Imaginary Realist artist primarily working in oil paint, watercolor and drawing. She is a Mische Technique lineage holder, a mixture of oil and egg tempera painting revolutionized by modern master, Ernst Fuchs. This technique creates an opalescent under painting that the colors are then glazed over, rendering each painting out of light rather than shadow, bringing the images to life with fractal clarity.

Description
In a desolate and apocalyptic background representing the violence our culture is enacting on mothers, the Madonna, dressed in Iris Van Herpen-inspired couture, takes a moment to feed her babe. Access to reproductive and maternal healthcare shouldn’t even be a question, yet our country is more restrictive than ever. This painting is a prayer that we rebuild the support for mothers which we have systematically eroded and to provide the structure that allows each new generation to flourish.
