Description
Blood Moon is a proposed album cover for the maiden album by the Yukon based Heavy Metal band Antarticus. Although not the kind of lighting one would try in watercolors I wanted to see how far I could push the medium. The story is about the musicians doing battle with a sub-arctic Chimera (chimera antarticus) on a frozen lake in the depth of Yukon's most forbidding mountains modelled on the Tombstone Range at Canada's Top of The World. It was a challenging subject to portray but really fun to depict 30 below in the wilderness under the light of a blood moon.
