Description
Based on the Lunar New Year Zodiac animals, 2024 was the year of the Wood Dragon. I sculpted the wood using multiple passes on a laser engraving machine and then integrated the cut paper dragon illustration into it. This piece was made with cut paper, watercolor, gouache, holographic vinyl, cherry wood, padauk wood, and 24K gold leaf. With the addition of hand sculpted dragon corners originally made in Monster clay, cast in bronze and patinaed by Colin Poole.
